Recreation at WAIS Divide

When we were waiting for our flight, I finally had some time to enjoy the cross country skis at WAIS Divide on the berms and the runway. And Galen took a snow mountain bike out for a ride on the runway.


Typically there was a projector for showing movies in the galley, so often a few folks would be watching a movie or TV show in the evening. The projector was also used for science talks. People watched The Day After Tomorrow one night, and the Saturday after we finished, someone brought out an old TV/ VHS combo and insisted we watch Zardoz...

Thwaites Interdisciplinary Margin Evolution (TIME) is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Environment Research Council (NERC) to study the Eastern Shear Margin of Thwaites Glacier in West Antarctica. The project is trying to better understand the response of the glacier to changes in climate and the contributions to sea level rise of this collapsing glacier.
