After 2 weeks of long field days, we were thankful to have some time to get a good night's sleep, visit with the rest of the camp, and start compiling and processing our GPS surveying and seismic data (we only had the Geode data because the node data were downloaded at McMurdo).

We took turns shoveling snow into this hopper where it melted and refilled the adjacent water tank. This type of snow melting system provided water for the bath house and for the kitchen, supplying running water to taps for drinking and washing.

Steve was doing some repairs on a Piston Bully in the mechanics tent.

Thwaites Interdisciplinary Margin Evolution (TIME) is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Environment Research Council (NERC) to study the Eastern Shear Margin of Thwaites Glacier in West Antarctica. The project is trying to better understand the response of the glacier to changes in climate and the contributions to sea level rise of this collapsing glacier.
